
Thorvin oversees Seguro’s valuation and risk management capabilities, including development of the customized financial and derivative pricing models used for a wide variety of client energy transactions, many related to CFE Generation’s extensive fleet of power generation assets. In addition to providing modeling and analytics, Thorvin leverages deep commercial experience in commodity structuring to assist clients in originating transactions in the electric and gas space. Thorvin has two decades of experience running decision-support and finance analytics teams at JPMorgan, Bear Stearns (Bear Energy), Calpine and Koch Industries. An avid collaborator with academia, Thorvin sits on the Advisory and Research Councils of the University of Colorado Denver’s JPMorgan Center for Commodities, and serves as the Content Director for the Center’s Professional Education program. Thorvin brings his penchant for instruction to Seguro with highly developed training courses and tutorials on quantitative subjects for Seguro’s clients. Thorvin is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), and has a BA in Economics from Stanford University.
